Investigation underway after resident is fatally stabbed in the back

CAMDEN - Firefighters found a woman fatally stabbed in her city home on Saturday evening, authorities said. Christine Pierce, 41, was discovered around 9 p.m. in an apartment on the 800 block of Haddon Avenue, according to the Camden County Prosecutor s Office. Firefighters went to the home after a small stove fire activated smoke detectors, the prosecutor s office said in a statement. Pierce was found unresponsive in another room with a puncture wound to her back. She was pronounced dead.at an area hospital, An investigation was underway. No arrests were announced. Pierce was the fourth person to die from violence in Camden this year, compared to two victims at the same time in 2020.
