UPPER HANOVER â An Upper Hanover man who is a police officer with the Hilltown Township Police Department in Bucks County found himself on the other side of the law, accused of possessing child pornography.
Matthew Reiss, 47, of the 1000 block of Ziegler Road in the Palm section of Upper Hanover, was arraigned on Tuesday before District Court Judge Albert J. Augustine on ten felony counts of possessing child pornography in connection with alleged incidents that occurred at his home between April and May.
Augustine set bail at $75,000 cash, which Reiss posted and he was released to await a June 7 preliminary hearing on the charges before District Court Judge Maureen Coggins.
NORRISTOWN â A recently formed Montgomery County task force focusing on human trafficking and child exploitation handled its first case this week and safely returned a 15-year-old county girl who ran away from home, according to authorities.
The girl, who was unharmed, was found within 24 hours in a hotel in Atlantic City and safely returned. It was the collaboration of task force detectives and New Jersey State Police that led to the quick return of the teenager, according to officials.
While officials said no specific details about the girl who ran away can be shared, they highlighted the case to announce the creation of the new Human Trafficking/Child Exploitation Task Force that is a partnership between the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, five police departments and the Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center.
LANSDALE â A Towamencin Township man with a 2012 conviction for possessing child pornography must answer to new charges in Montgomery County Court for a similar crime after detectives discovered alleged child pornographic images on his cell phone.
Matthew Raymond Aubin, 42, of the 1500 block of Staley Circle, was ordered to stand trial on multiple counts of possession of child pornography after he waived a preliminary hearing before District Court Judge Edward Levine. Aubin is charged in connection with alleged incidents that occurred between December and February.
Aubin remains free on $50,000 cash bail while awaiting a formal arraignment hearing on the charges in county court. Aubin posted the bail through a bonding company, according to court records.
NORRISTOWN â A Conshohocken man must answer to charges in Montgomery County Court that he allegedly possessed child pornography, including sexual-related images of girls under the age of 12.
Jorvan Axel Ramos-Martinez, 23, of the 800 block of East Elm Street, was ordered to stand trial, after waiving his preliminary hearing before District Court Judge Deborah Lukens, on multiple charges of possessing child pornography in connection with alleged incidents that occurred in September.
Ramos-Martinez remains free on $25,000 unsecured bail while awaiting his next court hearing, a formal arraignment on the charges in county court. After he is formally arraigned next month, a county judge will set a trial date.
