A US court has granted a Kenyan woman the right to bury her mother who died in Seattle, Washington last month.
Commissioner Pro Tem Kevin Boyle of Pierce County Superior Court in Washington granted Esther Nyawira her mother Jedidah Wambui’s remains for dignified burial. Jedidah’s husband Douglas Johnson was seeking to cremate her body against her family’s wish.
“We were prepared for a big fight, but we saw the hand of God,” Kennedy Komu, son-in-law to Jedidah, said.
