The Delhi government’s budget for the financial year 2021-22 was presented on Tuesday by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. He said the total outlay of the Delhi government’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year is Rs 69,000 crore.
While presenting the budget at the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Sisodia said, “Today I present this Deshbhakti Budget in view of the Centre s celebrations of India s 75 years of Independence with 75 weeks as Deshbhakti Mahotsav starting on March 12.”
“This Budget will focus on India s 75 as well as 100 years of independence,” he added.
Another important budget announcement Sisodia made was regarding free Covid-19 vaccinations. He announced that the government will allocate Rs 50 crore for free Covid-19 vaccinations at state-run hospitals in Delhi.
Delhi Budget 2021-22 makes allocation of Rs 16,377 crore for the education sector and Rs 9,934 crore for the health sector. Meanwhile, COVID-19 vaccines will continue to remain free in government hospitals.
