Des Moines-West Des Moines MSA grows 16.7% since 2010, census data shows
BY BUSINESS RECORD STAFF Monday, May 10, 2021 3:12 PM The Des Moines area’s population grew 16.7% from 2010 to 2020, according to recent data released from the U.S. Census Bureau. According to the census data, the estimated population of the Des Moines-West Des Moines metropolitan statistical area as of July 1, 2020, was 707,915, up from 606,478 in 2010. Year over year, Des Moines grew 1.1% from 2019 to 2020, the data showed.
