PENN TOWNSHIP, Mich. â Deputy Taryn Shields saved a dog that fell through an icy lake, falling through herself before making it to safety.
A call from a neighboring house on White Temple Road came in on Wednesday saying a dog, Leo, had fallen into the lake. Deputy Shields got to the pond and found Leo struggling to stay afloat.
Once Shields got to Leo, she also fell through the ice, but was able to get a hold of him and get them both to shore. Both Leo and Deputy Shields are doing just fine and as of the press release Thursday, finally warming up.
