The suspect who reportedly attacked and killed a Maricopa County Sheriff's deputy in October 2021 may face the death penalty, the county attorney's office said months later.
Maricopa County Attorney's Office announced Wednesday evening its intent to seek the death penalty if the man accused of murdering a Maricopa County deputy is convicted of First-Degree Murder.
Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty against the defendant accused of killing Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Deputy Juan "Johnny" Ruiz last October.
