Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy James Fox, assisted by deputies Hobie Daugherty, Justin Taylor, Landry Collett and Tommy Houston went to a domestic violence complaint off Rudy Bear Road. Deputies found a woman there who had allegedly been assaulted by her boyfriend. Police say she had a laceration to her forehead and was covered in blood. Deputies learned that apparently the boyfriend, 41-year-old Anthony Wayne Hornsby, had fled the scene and took a four-year-old girl with him. Police say about 100 yards from the home, Hornsby put the four-year-old out of the vehicle and told her to walk home. Deputies say the roadway was dark and it was raining and snowing. Police found Hornsby passed out in his vehicle with the engine running. Deputies say they could smell alcohol on him. After waking him up, police say he continually created a disturbance cursing deputies and threatening to file false reports
