Brian Fitzgerald, head of the Detective Bureau, transferred to patrol; Capt. Roderick Porter, head of community services, to patrol; Capt. Kevin Gilleran, from special services to head of the Detective Bureau; Capt. Steven Lougal, from patrol to special services; and Capt. Lonnie Blackwell, from patrol to administrative services. Garcia would not comment on the transfers. Fitzgerald, Porter and Lougal filed an injunction request in Superior Court Friday to block their transfers. No hearing date on the request has yet been set.

Bridgeport officials have no confidence in police union vote FacebookTwitterEmail Acting Police Chief Rebeca Garcia is facing the fallout from the union’s no confidence vote.Christian Abraham / Hearst Connecticut Media BRIDGEPORT Police union officials said they plan to meet to determine their next step following Wednesday’s no confidence vote in Acting Chief Rebeca Garcia. “Our executive board will meet to determine ways we can move forward from this vote,” said Union President Sgt Brad Seely. He said eventually union leadership plan to meet with the mayor’s office to deliver their concerns. He did not specifically discuss the union’s initial demand after the vote was counted that Garcia be immediately replaced.
