February 13, 2021 ISLAMABAD/LAHORE/MULTAN: The country’s three major political parties PTI, PPP and PML-N have finalised the names of their candidates for the upcoming Senate elections, with the PDM nominating Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Farhatullah Babar as its consensus candidates from Islamabad. The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finalised the names of 15 candidates, including Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh from Islamabad and Faisal Vawda from Sindh. Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry tweeted the names of 13 candidates, while two others were mentioned by the PTI’s Central Media Department. Unlike other political parties, the ruling party has not invited formal applications from the aspirants. The 11-member parliamentary board is headed by Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Mandviwalla demands facts behind NAB-Broadsheet accord

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Senate Salim Mandviwalla on Sunday demanded that facts behind the agreement signed between the National Accountability Bureau and Broadsheet should come before the people.

ByAsim Yasin ISLAMABAD: Denying all the allegations levelled against it, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sunday said it had time and again clarified and announced that it had no affiliation with any political party, individual or group and its affiliation was only with the State of Pakistan. In a statement with regard to the Deputy Chairman Senate Salim Mandviwalla’s allegations against the NAB in a press talk on Saturday, the NAB said it will not come under any pressure or propaganda campaign. Clarifying the media reports, the NAB said the land of Kidney Hill area was reserved for amenity purposes i.e. development of a public park. KDA has published a notification in the Gazette of Pakistan under Article 45 of KDA order dated 07-11-1966 & 05-09-1969 regarding Kidney Hill as KDA Scheme No 32 “FALAKNAMA” and proposed it to be a recreational area as park.
