ISLAMABAD/LAHORE/MULTAN: The country’s three major political parties PTI, PPP and PML-N have finalised the names of their candidates for the upcoming Senate elections, with the PDM nominating Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Farhatullah Babar as its consensus candidates from Islamabad.
The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has finalised the names of 15 candidates, including Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh from Islamabad and Faisal Vawda from Sindh.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry tweeted the names of 13 candidates, while two others were mentioned by the PTI’s Central Media Department. Unlike other political parties, the ruling party has not invited formal applications from the aspirants. The 11-member parliamentary board is headed by Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Today (Saturday) is the last day for filing of nomination papers for the upcoming Senate election. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) plea seeking extension in the date, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the names of the nominated candidates will be published on February 14, followed by the scrutiny process from February 15 to February 16.
February 17 and February 18 have been given as the dates for filing appeals against the acceptance or rejection of the nominations. The appeals will be disposed of by the tribunal on February 19 and February 20.

Major political parties of the country – including the ruling PTI, the PML-N, the PPP and the JUI-F – have unveiled lists of their candidates who will take part in the upcoming Senate election schedule for March 3.
The candidates include bigwigs like former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who was disqualified by the apex court on June 19, 2002 for contempt of court, PPP’s Farhatullah Babar and Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and Shibli Faraz, the incumbent ministers for finance and information, respectively.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - All major political parties have fielded their candidates for the upcoming Senate elections, with the collection process of nomination papers still underway.
The scrutiny of nominations will take place on February 15 and 16 while the Election Commission will release the final list on February 21.
According to details, PTI’s parliamentary board has given final approval to the names of candidates for the Senate elections. It recommended names of Shibli Faraz, Hafeez Sheikh and other candidates for the upcoming Senate elections.
