NEWPORT NEWS — More than a year after a judge condemned the 15-story Seaview Lofts apartment building and upwards of 100 residents were forced to move out, the city has given the OK for some of the units to be rented out. Newport News city spokesperson Kim Lee said four of the building’s 150 apartment units have recently been “released for occupancy” by the city’s Department of Codes .
The building's owner, Seaview Apartments LLC, once again appeared in court for a status hearing. The head of the company, Ben Weinstein, was also there again along with his attorneys.
