A witness saw moments before the gunfire. I spoke to a witness who says that she heard arguing between these men and the shooting happened across the street and behind me. Meanwhile Oakland Police investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what led up to the gunfire. Evidence markers cover the sidewalk outside a barbershop tonight where a shooting sent two men to the hospital. One of them has since died. We have Police Responding to an emergency. Looks like shots were fired. The Oakland Police Department Says a fully uniformed bart police opened fire. We know both individuals had gunshot wounds but we cannot confirm that this was from the discharge of the bart officers firearm. And im going to share with you the reason why. The reason why is because we recovered a firearm from the scene. Police located that gun where those two men were before the officer showed up. This happened before 5 00 p. M. At 7th and chester street. There was basically an argument between two guys.

Police are talking to witnesses and pouring over Surveillance Video as they try to determine how it unfolded. The chaos played out at 4 41 pm wednesday night stubs from the bart station. A Police Officer in full uniform responded to gunfire and discharged his weapon. Two men were left injured. One dead and another in serious condition. It is not clear who fired the fatal shot. Building and all the nurses came together to talk and woke the patients up and everybodys Blood Pressure went up. So it was scary for us. We havent felt an earthquake in a long time. Usually youre moving around, youre doing something. Being in california, you like to think youre used to it but its still scary. Reporter that man was born in the bay area and it was scary. They have a protocol there it the hospital if it was a very serious quake. This lasted about five seconds and by the time it was over, everybody knew that everybody was going to be okay. Everybody felt safe. He said those are also the times when you question the structural stability of the building youre in.
