A team of interdisciplinary researchers from Penn State worked with counties and other stakeholders across Pennsylvania to design the formula by which the commonwealth's $1 billion opioid settlement is being distributed to counties. In a new publication, the researchers explained how they identified data that could be used for decision-making, developed a formula that addressed the needs of all parties, and promoted buy-in.
Penn State has partnered with Highmark Blue Shield for employee medical and prescription benefits starting on Jan. 1, 2023, replacing Aetna and CVS Caremark. Faculty and staff medical plan designs and contribution percentages will remain unchanged in 2023.
Patrick Kraft, director of athletics at Boston College, has been named Penn State’s next vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics/director of athletics. Kraft, a respected leader with a demonstrated record of success and commitment to students and coaches, will start at Penn State on July 1.
