The deputy has stabilized but is undergoing surgery right now. The 27yearold suspect was arrested at nearby motel. This started at 6 00 when the deputy made contact with the suspect at a light rail station. There was a confrontation and the suspect shot the deputy in the face. The bullet hit the officer who works for the university of maryland baltimore in the head. Police identified the instructor who fired the weapon as William Scott kern, who has worked for Baltimore City police for 18 years.
