Now from abc 7, live breaking news. And that breaking news is from sacramento where a deputy was shot in the face. Late tonight, s. W. A. T. Officers found the suspect after a tense standoff. The deputy has stabilized but is undergoing surgery right now. The 27yearold suspect was arrested at nearby motel. This started at 6 00 when the deputy made contact with the suspect at a light rail station. There was a confrontation and the suspect shot the deputy in the face. The suspect was seen running to a nearby red roof inn. The officer began evacuating guests. I was looking out the window and s. W. A. T. Team basically pointed at me, at the window and said the guy at the window and they had ak47s and told me to get out of the room. The suspect was spotted by a police robot. The deputy was working overtime because security had been increased in several light rail stations. Thousands of employees in San Francisco are eagerly looking forward to this weekend when the minimum wage goes up to 14

The bullet hit the officer who works for the university of maryland baltimore in the head. Police identified the instructor who fired the weapon as William Scott kern, who has worked for Baltimore City police for 18 years. State police will complete a criminal investigation and forward that to the states attorney. We will sit back and wait for the investigation to be completed. And then once that is done, we will review it and determine what, if any, charges need to be brought. Reporter the state still owns rosewood.
