Bark Social, a dog bar and recreation area, opens this weekend in North Bethesda s Pike & Rose retail development.

Bark Social, a dog bar and recreation area, is set to open this weekend at 935 Prose St. in North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose retail development.
The concept features a café with coffees, teas, sandwiches, empanadas and other foods for dogs. There is also a self-serve bar offering 20 beers on tap.

STATE TO LAUNCH ONE-STOP VAXX PORTAL: Maryland officials will launch a one-stop, preregistration web portal soon for people looking to book COVID-19 immunization appointments at the state’s mass vaccination clinics. PUSH TO GET BLACKS, OTHER MINORITIES VACCINATED: Maryland lawmakers continue to express concerns about the low numbers of Blacks and other minorities who are being vaccinated against the coronavirus. Biden appoints Silver Spring brewery owner to Small Business Administration
Julie Verratti, co-founder and chief brand officer of Denizens Brewing Co., has been appointed to the U.S. Small Business Administration.
She will fill be associate administrator of field operations, leading the SBA’s 68 field offices and 10 regional offices. The Office of Field Operations oversees the agency’s products and services.

The co-founder of a popular local LGBTQ-owned brewery has been tapped by the Biden-Harris administration to a key post in the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Beginning on March 1, Julie Verratti, co-founder of Denizens Brewing Co., will serve as an associate administrator of field operations for the SBA, a position in which she will oversee 80 offices throughout the country responsible for providing services and support to the small business community.
