Late free throws sealed the game for the Lady Trailblazers. Father Tolton was down two points with under two minutes to play, then Sophie Angel hit two free throws to tie the game with 1:44 left, Brooklyn Coolley grabbed an offensive rebound and hit two free throws to take the lead, then Ellie Reynolds and Sam Wright combined to hit five of six in the final minute to take a 47-44 win Monday against the Capital City Lady Cavaliers.
It was a solid opening two quarters for the Capital City Lady Cavaliers.
They did a good job on the offensive end and held a potent Hickman offense in check in taking a six-point deficit into halftime.
But things went awry in the opening minutes of the third quarter.
Capital City coach Ashley Agee got a lot of opportunities to watch her bench players. The Lady Cavaliers ran through the O’Fallon Christian Lady Eagles 74-13 Monday night at Capital City High School.
