The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized demonetised currency worth Rs 36.3 crore and arrested 9 persons in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) terror funding case.
During the investigation, it had emerged that persons/entities linked to the separatists and terrorists were still in possession of a significant amount of demonetised currency which they could not deposit / convert during the period earmarked by the government.

Synopsis
Police made the seizure based on a tip-off. They said the seized currencies were in the denominations of Rs 1000.
The police on Monday seized Rs 4.8 crore in demonetised currency notes from Kalayarkoil area of Tamil Nadu s Sivaganga district.
According to police, the demonetised currency notes were allegedly confiscated from the house of physiotherapist Arul Chinnappan.
Police made the seizure based on a tip-off. They said the seized currencies were in the denominations of Rs 1000.
A case has been registered and an investigation into the matter is underway.
