Rep. Julie Rogers has been appointed as the Democratic assistant floor leader in the Michigan House of Representatives.
Democratic Floor Leader Representative Yousef Rabhi appointed Rogers to the position. Rogers said she is honored, humbled and excited to serve in the position, which she hold for the 2021 - 2022 legislative term.
Rogers, 45, was elected to the seat after current state Rep. Jon Hoadley, D-Kalamazoo, could not run for reelection due to term limits. The Kalamazoo County commissioner, and former chairperson of that board, won the state House race in November’s general election with 74.94% of the vote.
