DIPHU Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC), a regional political party of the three hill districts of Assam — Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao — has suggested the Election Commission of India (ECI) on delimitation of assemblies and parliamentary constituencies. During a press conference held at ASDC central committee office in Diphu on Monday, the party suggested the Delimitation Commission of India (DCI) that considering the vast area and lack of proper communication the existing No. 3 Autonomous District (ST) Parliamentary constituency should be bifurcated into two more new parliamentary constituencies including one for Dima Hasao Parliamentary constituency, one for West Karbi Anglong and retaining one seat for Karbi Anglong. The publicity secretary, Daniel Teron at the conference said also suggested on creating three more new assembly seats each for Diphu LA segment, Howraghat LA and Bokajan LA, three more new seats for Baithalangso LA and Halflong
