In an hour-long virtual presentation, Kumar said that the government in 2023 had increased its performance by double, and as a result, 12 lakh metric tonnes of silt has been removed from drains.

The water level of the Yamuna river in Delhi has receded since yesterday when it briefly crossed the danger mark of 205.33 metres due to torrential rain in the river s catchment areas. It had risen rapidly to 205.39 metres at 10 pm on Tuesday but had gone down to 205.14 metres at 8 am on Wednesday according to the Central Water Commission.
The water level of the Yamuna crossed the warning mark of 204.50 metres in Delhi following torrential rain in the river's upper catchment areas over the past two days.
