Delhi Weather Update: because of the dense fog, visibility was reduced to zero at several places early in the morning, affecting the movement of commuters in Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram as well.
Dense fog and cold wave conditions disrupted air and rail traffic in North India. Several flights and trains to Delhi were delayed or cancelled as zero visibility was recorded at Delhi IGI Airport.
Cold wave in India: Very dense fog was reported in isolated parts of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh and northwest Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday late night, according to the IMD.
As per the India Meteorological Department, "Delhi Palam (VIDP) and Safdarjung Airports are reporting 500m visibilities at 0530 hrs IST today, the 16th January."
Delhi Cold Wave Alert: As the national capital is witnessing intense cold wave, people must note that the last time Delhi witnessed its coldest day was on January 25, 2022 when the maximum temperature was recorded at 12.1 degrees Celsius.
