New Delhi: Scores of Delhi University teachers and students have appealed to the administration to scrap the final semester examinations, which are scheduled to commence on June 7, in light of the deaths of 50 professors and teachers of the varsity and its affiliated colleges due to the coronavirus.
Delhi University on May 20 postponed semester exams for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students for the second time and announced that these will now commence on June 7.

New Delhi, May 5 : Twelve ad hoc teachers services have been terminated in Delhi University s Vivekanand College, according to a teachers organisation. This action has been condemned by the Delhi University Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Class Teachers Forum.
According to the DU SC/ST/OBC Teachers Forum, of the 12 ad hoc teachers, five have tested positive for Covid-19. The overall condition of teachers suffering from the infection is quite bad. Their families have been struggling with a financial crisis while they have been terminated.

New Delhi, Feb 22 : Delhi University s Satyawati College has invited applications for the post of 46 teachers. The Delhi Teachers Association (DTA) on Monday has filed a petition with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and the National Commission for Backward Classes for the college not giving reservation in these posts.
The petition has also strongly condemned the abolition of ad-hoc posts by the colleges and conversion of those posts into guest teachers.
