Delhi: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reports that Delhi is once again in the grip of ‘severe’ air pollution, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 500 on Saturday morning. Anand Vihar and Aya Nagar recorded an AQI of 478, while Jahangirpuri registered an AQI of 460. The city is also experiencing a double whammy of cold weather, compounding the challenges faced by its residents. Various locations across Delhi registered air quality in the ‘very poor’ and ‘severe’ category and the national capital ranks third in the list of most polluted cities across India.
Delhi air quality returned back to very poor category from Friday onwards after falling in ‘poor’ range for several days. However, no location across Delhi registered ‘severe’ air quality today.
