The PM delivered a speech in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, on April 9 where he not only sought votes in the name of Hindu and Sikh deities and their places of worship but also made comments against opposition political parties as favouring Muslims according to the petition.
A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora made the observation while hearing a PIL highlighting that over 2 lakh MCD school students are deprived of "statutory benefits."
