Delhi: Eight teachers of four MCD schools test positive for COVID-19 ANI | Updated: Apr 05, 2021 21:20 IST New Delhi (India), April 5 (ANI): Eight teachers of four Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools have tested positive for COVID-19, informed the area mayor on Monday. Eight teachers of four schools that fall under MCD, have tested positive for the coronavirus, Jai Prakash, Mayor North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) said. Delhi reported 3,548 new COVID-19 cases and 15 related deaths in the last 24 hours. According to the latest figures released by the health department of Delhi, the city s positivity rate stands at 5.54 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate is at 4.54 per cent. Total samples tested were 64,003 in the last 24 hours.

Delhi govt increases number of beds reserved for COVID-19 patients ANI | Updated: Apr 05, 2021 22:46 IST New Delhi [India], April 5 (ANI): Amid the surge in COVID-19 cases in the national capital, the Delhi government on Monday has decided to increase the number of beds reserved for coronavirus patients at several hospitals. The government, in a media release, stated that in view of the increase in COVID-19 cases in the city, it has been decided to designate an increased number of beds the hospitals for admitting confirmed or suspected cases of the infection at nine government hospitals. These hospitals include Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP), where beds are to be increased from 300 to 1,000. At Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, the number of reserved beds is to be increased from 50 to 100 while at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital (GTB) Hospital it is to be hiked to 500.

Severity of cases comparatively lower in 4th COVID-19 wave in Delhi: Satyendar Jain ANI | Updated: Apr 05, 2021 17:45 IST New Delhi [India], April 5 (ANI): Amid the ongoing fourth wave in COVID-19 cases in the national capital, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Monday said that the severity of the cases is comparatively lower as compared to the previous three waves of the disease. The severity of the cases is comparatively lower as compared to the previous coronavirus waves. This is the fourth wave in Delhi and the second wave in the country, Jain told reporters. Stating that Delhi is testing at a capacity five times more than that of the national average, he further informed that more than 80,000 tests are being conducted every day and micro-containment zones will be designated in areas with more than two cases.

Delhi reports 425 fresh COVID-19 cases, one death in last 24 hours

New Delhi [India], March 16 (ANI): Delhi reported 425 new COVID-19 cases and one related death in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 6,44,489 in the national capital, informed the Delhi health department on Tuesday.
