Comings & Goings: Fire doesn’t extinguish Wok of Flame

Like its name suggests, Wok of Flame knows how to deal with fire. It was back open last Sunday after a small kitchen blaze the night before. Davis firefighters responded at about 11 p.m. on Jan. 16, and had the kitchen and roof flames out within 15 minutes.
The Chinese food restaurant is at 417 Mace Blvd. in the El Macero shopping center.
Café Bernardo and its Tiki Bar were still closed on Friday, and had been since at least Sunday. A note on the door at 234 D St. said it’s temporary.
Yolo remains in purple tier
Yolo County’s COVID-19 test positivity rate has plummeted now that the state is counting all tests done by Healthy Davis Together.

Unfortunately, this effort led to several angry tweets from President Trump because not a single story reported that he won November’s election “by a lot.”
I will not make that mistake. In fact, one of my goals for 2020 was to get mentioned at least once in a presidential tweet, but I failed. Still, I have nearly three weeks to accomplish that goal before Joe Biden takes office on Jan. 20, so please read on.
