In early June, the United States delivered $14.9 million worth of 155mm artillery ammunition to the Estonian Defense Forces, and $2.7 million worth of mobile radars (AN/TSQ-288) to the Estonian Navy. Over the next several weeks, the U.S. Navy will support the Estonian Navy with technical training on the radars.

In my assessment, cuts in the defense sector should not be made in this moment. The international situation is so critical and intense. Cuts in defense send the wrong message and weaken Estonia s defense capabilities, Terras told ERR. And if it is urgent then I do not see these cuts, since the EDF has focused on producing actual capabilities over the last few years and has tried to reduce all costs to a minimum. The Alabama World Affairs Council and NATO will present a virtual panel discussion on “Outer Space as a NATO Operational Domain” at noon on May 24.
The discussion, which will be held on Zoom and is free and open to the public, is part of a series of events presented by the World Affairs Councils of America and NATO as a part of the NATO 2030: Strengthening the Alliance to Address New Security Threats initiative. Two Estonian firms have been granted the tender to repoint Estonian Defense Forces (EDF) tracked armored vehicles for several different purposes, in the largest defense contract to be awarded to an Estonian firm by the Estonian state itself.
AS Ühenenud Depood and Scania Eesti AS have won the €29.8-million contract, BNS reports, awarded by the Center for Defense Investment (RKK).

TALLINN - The Estonian government at a meeting on Thursday released secretary general of the Estonian Ministry of Defense Kristjan Prikk from his position and appointed Kusti Salm as the new secretary general.
The government approved at Thursday s meeting a proposal by the Ministry of Defense to release Prikk from his position effective from May 14 and appoint Salm in his stead, spokespeople for the government said.
The new secretary general has been appointed for a term of five years from May 15, 2021, until May 14, 2026.
Prikk is to start work as Estonia s ambassador to the United States.
