Patrick mchenry, a republican representative from North Carolina has taken the gavel, he topped a confidential list of interim leaders named by Kevin Mccarthy when he got the job. Until mccarthys replacement is elected, no progress can be made on a long term Spending Bill to keep the government Open Past Mid November or a new aid package for ukraine. You have a Republican Party at odds with itself right now, at least in the house, but we have again a Stopgap Funding Bill that is going to run out in the middle of november and negotiations really should start as soon as possible in order to make sure the Us Government does not shut down next month. in the documents over just how voluminous the discovery is. so it will be substantively procedural. fair enough. in terms of the timetable, this an area of tension which we expected nonetheless. jack smith wants to go to trial in less than six months. how reasonable is that timeline? it s a reasonable timeline for smith to propose and kudos to him for pushing it forward. but practically, i think that s highly unlikely to happen. it is a complicated case. but, more importantly, delay is a good tactic on the part of the defense attornies and it s quite obvious at this point that potato trump and his lawyers are seeking to delay. it starts small, even thousand long it took nauta to get a lawyer helps about that delay. they were overt, saying they don t want to set a trial date. i think the judge is going to give them a trial date and is going to move towards it, but it s very, very difficult to see this really getting underway
else. when you challenge that, we are in a dangerous zone when simply because you challenge evidence that s being posed against your client, oh, you are victim blaming. no. i am holding people accountable for attempting to hold me accountable or my client accountable. that s one issue. pivoting to the issue second with respect to the investigation, i think it s dangerous when we allow a person to put together a report i have known miss james for 20 years, confident, able, intelligent, a superstar, no doubt. she didn t do the investigation. she appointed it elsewhere. now we have to look at who are the parties that conducted the investigation. are they objective? have they have preformed notions? we as attorney challenge investigatory reports all the time. it s not that a prosecutor puts out a report and we say we are defense attornies here, nothing to see here, turn the page. no. what did those investigators do? what s in the report? was everybody interviewed and evaluated? was there
