Mass vaccinations of the Pfizer vaccine began this weekend in Little Current at the Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands recreation complex.
The Manitoulin Health Centre has purchased an ultra-low freezer with the capacity to reach a temperature of -86 degrees Celsius to store the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.
The freezer can store over 21,000 vaccines at a time.
The purchase price of approximately $12,000 was allocated from funds remaining in the Manitoulin ventilator campaign, which was originally initiated by M’Chigeeng First Nation Chief Linda Debassige.

A primary school cooked up a treat for families by hosting a virtual holiday club over half term.
Children at Bury and Whitefield Jewish Primary School enjoyed everything from kids yoga and street dance sessions to scavenger hunts and scratch games thanks to the online activities hosted throughout last week.
