debate rules as having a, quote, inadvertent impact on the diversity of which candidates are making the cut and ending up on the stage for the democrats. so, all the candidates on stage, plus booker and castro, they re asking the party now for changes, late changes, to the qualifying process for the next debates. basically, to make it a little easier for candidates to get up there by more means than they can get there now. so far, the democratic party shows no signs of giving into these demands, but, i mean, think about housetw this plays if all of their candidates are asking for the same thing, that s eventually going to become an awkward problem for the party. you can t have all of the candidates in the party against the party on a procedural issue like this. even sooner than that resolves, though, there s this issue of whether there is actually going to be a thursday night debate this week, and that is completely determined at this point by whether or not there s going to be a picke
here s something i have absolutely no idea how it s going to work out. but it s got to work out one way the other and soon. the next presidential debate is next week. it s thursday in los angeles. this is debate number six. it s the first of all the democratic debates this year that will have fewer than ten people on stage at once. right now there s seven qualified candidates and the deadline s passed so it s those seven. that said it appears tonight it s very possible there will be zero candidates on that debate stage next week because 150 people who work at marymount university are planning to run a picket line. they re going to be walking a picket line outside the debate venue. their union is in a very live debate with a contractor at that school. the union has been pushing for better health care options for months since the spring of this year. but talks broke down this month. and that meant a picket line was
that fireball at an oil facility north of san francisco took hours to get under control. it turned into a fire tornado. no injuries reported. the president taking his reelection pushed to the sky. flying a plane over the fourth democratic debate venue in ohio with a banner tweeting socialism destroys ohio jobs, vote trump, the president s fundraising numbers flying high, his campaign raising $126 million in the third quarter. tom stier made the mainstage for the first time but didn t make the best first impression.
debate in history. the impeachment inquiry into president trump will undoubtedly loom large. abby phillip is outside the debate venue in ohio. what is happening concerning this next debate? the dynamic seems to have shifted a bit. joe biden, who has for many, many months been the frontrunner of this race, seems to be getting quite a bit of competition from senator warren, who appears to have taken a little bit of a lead based on the average look at all the polls that are out there. on top of that, as you mentioned, this impeachment inquiry touches on the democratic presidential primary. joe biden may very well face
of this country, the corporate elite, enough is enough with your greed, with your corruption. we need real change in their country. this sanders/warren dynamic, this rivalry is something we ve always been keeping a close eye on, perhaps more so now. is there any expectation of how that s going to play out on tuesday night? yeah, i think you re seeing the signs that in some ways, the nays are going to be out for elizabeth warren. she s been rising really steadily in the polls. but for bernie sanders, the issue is so critical because she attracts some of the same voters who were attracted to him in the last election. so, but with warren, you know, rising all around, i think not just bernie sanders, but you re going to see some of the more moderate candidates going after her as well. i m not big on predictions, but i think that one is going to be one that i m willing to stand by going into tuesday, alex. all right, you re going to have an interesting time out there in columbus, ohio
