The Cedarburg School Board has decided to keep its mask policy in place with one small change for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year, after a lengthy public debate April 27.
The board voted, 6-0, to keep the mask policy in place while modifying it to say masks are optional outside of school buildings. The meeting itself ran over five hours.
The full policy says masks are required to be worn by all individuals when in school buildings and while transporting students in district provided or contracted vehicles. Masks may be removed when in an unoccupied room or while eating or drinking.
