"Post conviction, while in jail, he made a murderous attack on jail inmate. These instances persuades us to hold that he is beyond improvement and there are no chances of reformation," the Court said.
A three-judge bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Uday Umesh Lalit noted that the aggravating circumstances in the case weighed more than the mitigating circumstances, thereby, warranting death sentence.
The Court said that the the appellant was a menace to the society since he killed six innocent persons only because his wife opposed his illicit relationship with his sister-in-law.
