An advocate from Ayodhya had filed a PIL alleging that there were encroachments on land given to the Indian Army. The Court, however, disposed of the lawyer's PIL decided to take it up as a suo motu case.

The Allahabad High Court recently directed the State government to compensate a man with ₹25,000 on account of his unlawful detention for around three days due to certain lapses by a Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
"In India, it is open for anybody to change religion. An oral or written declaration does not constitute conversion. Credible proof of desire to convert is required," the Court said.
Once the consent of a minor prosecutrix is immaterial for registration of the offence, such consent shall remain immaterial at all stages, including for compromise, the Court said.
