In their opening statements to a jury, lawyers for three men accused in a high-profile gang murder case on Tuesday denied their clients were involved in the crimes.
Rabih “Robby” Alkhalil and Dean Michael Wiwchar are charged with the first-degree murder of Sandip Duhre at Vancouver’s Sheraton Wall Centre on Jan. 17, 2012.

The brazen shooting of Jonathan Bacon in Kelowna in 2011 galvanized three accused to engage in two subsequent murder conspiracies, a prosecutor said Monday.
Larry Amero, Rabih “Robby” Alkhalil, and Dean Wiwchar the three accused pleaded not guilty Monday to conspiring to murder Sandip Duhre and Sukh Dhak. Wiwchar and Alkhalil also pleaded not guilty to the January 2012 first-degree murder of Duhre at Vancouver’s Sheraton Wall Centre.
