The brazen shooting of Jonathan Bacon in Kelowna in 2011 galvanized three accused to engage in two subsequent murder conspiracies, a prosecutor said Monday.
Larry Amero, Rabih “Robby” Alkhalil, and Dean Wiwchar the three accused pleaded not guilty Monday to conspiring to murder Sandip Duhre and Sukh Dhak. Wiwchar and Alkhalil also pleaded not guilty to the January 2012 first-degree murder of Duhre at Vancouver’s Sheraton Wall Centre.

Crown counsel Nicole Gregoire told a B.C. Supreme Court jury that the August 2011 murder of Bacon provides evidence of the motive for the three accused to commit their crimes.
