Within the hour, police told us the man believed to be the suspect was found in the parking lot with a handgun in his hand. And police say after that he drove to wilmington, delaware on the 2800 block of northeast boulevard and here at 20th auto dealership and service he shot a man in the head. And a witness described hearing the gun fire and seeing a man and woman running and calling for help. All i heard was a pop. I heard one pop and seen the young lady come running out and ran into the garage. Her and the other guy shut the door and i heard a second pop. They saw the shooter fleeing the scene and the victim was able to give information. We came upon the individual conscious and alert and actually shot two times and our officers were speaking with him and our officers were advised by the victim they gave us the name. The officer briefly escorted the woman back to the auto body shop.
He pulled in asking for help. Came in and sure enough there was a paramedic here. Took him right in and took him up to the hospital. The owner dan murphy says the driver was familiar witness dealership they service most emergency vehicles in the area. He believes the driver knew it was a safe place and the closest he would be sure to get help. Almost always a paramedic here or police or something because we take care of all their vehicles through the whole area. So its not unlikely somebody would be here.
