Bengaluru city police have directed schools to enhance security measures, including the introduction of metal detectors, handheld metal detectors, full HD CCTVs, and CCTV coverage every 50 metres. Additionally, they recommended an open network video interface and 30 days of data storage, with staff appointed to monitor the CCTV control room.
However, the Associated Management of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka (KAMS) opposed the early opening of schools. There are concerns raised regarding the proposed changes in school timing. It is argued that altering school hours may not effectively reduce urban traffic congestion and could have adverse effects on various stakeholders, including children, parents, teachers, and the overall education system.
