Dealing with the pandemic but its right there and put on full display, our societies inequality and injustice. This display hasnt been in words or theories, its been in death. Our societies inequality span over 400 years of slavery, segregation, jim crow and racism. These inequalities exist in many forms, healthcare, Public Safety and justice. Back and African Americans make up just 8 of the states population nearly 18 of covid19 deaths over the past several months have been from that same community. Inequality in healthcare results in death, pure and simple. Our justice system, lady justice is supposed to be blind but many in our eight feel, rightfully so, the color is all thats seen. Incarceration rates bear that out and incidents from breanna to minneapolis, it is very real. Disproportionate death and in my short time as governor, ive felt a lot. Individuals try to create fear and terror in my own family but thats been a few days, maybe a week. Certainly not a lifetime. I will never

But that has been a few days, maybe a week. Certainly not a lifetime. I will never understand how it feels to carry the frustration and fatigue of racism in a world and country that has failed to address it in

It has burned so far about 90 acres, firefighters are on the scene here. Its such a remote area that you can see the hose has to go along this ridgeline here just to get to the firefighters and at one point they actually had to take to the air and drop retardant down because he was not obviously an area you drive to to access a fire. Hydrant let me show you video of whats called the colleen fire. It started late last night and its right next to thousands of homes in this community that at one point they actually had to evacuate the people just out of fear that the fire could jumped the fire line and spread throughout this neighborhood. Fortunately theyve been able to get the upper hand on the fire and the people were told
