Secrets of Success 2020: Health clubs adapt to meet the needs of local fitness-goers Support Local Journalism Shares As the pandemic reared its ugly head, locally, back in early March, some of the businesses hit hardest in Davis by shelter in place orders were fitness centers and health clubs. Like so many, forced to shutter their doors in compliance with state and county health edicts, gym owners were left in limbo wondering how long it would be before they’d get the green light to re-open their facilities. “We thought it would just be a couple weeks or maybe a month at that point,” says Allison Fall, owner of Studio 355 a popular spot for pilates, yoga and MELTmethod chronic pain treatment in downtown Davis. “When your business is based on taking care of people, physically, and improving their health so they can feel better and empowered in their own bodies, it was a huge challenge early on.”
