Right, item 7 b, update on proposed legislation. Good morning, again, bill strorm, legislative and Public Affairs there has not been a great deal of activity since the last report on this as was mentioned in the president s announcements. And we did have a very strong interest in our first workshop on the mandatory soft story retrofitting we probably had almost 300 people in a space, that only really handles about a third of that. And so, we have scheduled a d second workshop and we will be in the main library on october 28 and this i think that will present a Good Opportunity for at least another 230 people to get more of the program details. Robert chun as you know is the manager of running this program and he has told me that we have already had more than 100 of the screening documents, returned. And even, though, the way that the program is set up, there is about, a one year, period for those screening documents to come back to us. And so, i would just see that as an indicator that
Somebody asked about that it make sense the clipper card will be available for use for the system right now its not available thats right and this is the kind of thing at the region structure form we can think about it longterm with the original role were in a pilot phase. That will be key for the clipper being used. Thats right and supporting the system its a transit a recreational Transit System outreach. Something has come up around where the stations are sited and again, more local control over Decision Making and local control around funding because there is there can be a krrlt terms of how that might play out thats another consideration as to the model was it might be. This is again trying to expand not only the geofrantical policies but other things for the system. This is the method we looked at a bunch of materials including be Academic Research and did a bunch of stakeholder academies and advocates and tried to say whats the right context for San Francisco how do we fit in a

I also said to everyone, to people on both sides of the aisle, that if both sides worked together, id put a bill on the floor of the senate later that spring, and thats what happened when we overwhelmingly passed the act in june of 2021. It took three weeks, lots of debate, amendments. Just as the senate ought to work even on major and difficult legislation, as this has been. Senators cantwell and wicker were tremendous leaders in this effort and skillfully managed the floor process. They deserve a great deal of praise not only for passing last years bill, but for their efforts this year as well. A year later the legislation were passing today contains many of the critical investments in that bill. Both bills make historic investments
