An Arizona man is facing several charges for the murder of a Utah man.
Jason Thomas Bates, 38, of Page, Arizona, was arrested for first-degree murder, two counts of felony discharge of a firearm with serious bodily injury, second-degree aggravated assault and third-degree felony possession of a firearm by a restricted person, according to the Kane County Sheriff s Office.
Limited details were released about the murder of 49-year-old Matthew Wayne Young, of Church Well, Utah. The sheriff s office reported last week that EMTs from the Big Water Fire Department were unable to revive Young.
Authorities did not disclose what his cause of death was or where he was found.

Bates is accused of shooting and killing Matthew Wayne Young, 49, on Young s property in Church Wells on April 13. Bates is accused of shooting Young in the back, causing serious injury. A few seconds later, while (Young) was face down on the ground, (Bates) shot (him) at close range in the back of the head, charging documents state.
