zelenskyy himself said it is not something they re actively pursuing. if it grows elsewhere in europe and it is a more united west in europe, the white house supports that. they feel like it would be a bulwark for russian aggression down the road. a certain former president has been saying how brilliant putin is, been saying it for years, been saying what a strong leader he is. in my adult life i can t think of a leader who has made a more catastrophic blunder for his country geopolitically than vladimir putin has over the past six, seven weeks. nothing strategic about it. everything has backfired. as david said, he wanted nato to contract, it has expanded. he now has latvia and estonia going, we re not scared of russian troops anymore. you have joe biden saying we will defend every inch of nato soil. you have the west splintering. china was doing a pretty good
states, of course, are the ones with the greatest oil reserves, greatest natural gas reserves. why dependent on those countries for another 20 years when we have the technology to move forward? and the germans now realize if they can kept their nuclear power plants on they would need not one drop of oil, no gas. so they re going to revisit that policy now and, hopefully, the rest of europe will follow suit. and the united states of america. right. my god, three mile island, do you know how much that set us back, and building nuclear plants here with zero carbon footprint. it is really extraordinary. we have the means to move forward and reduce green house gases, reduce reliance on russia and on venezuela and on iran. just are we going to do it? david rothcoff, thank you for

that that ukraine should be able to do whatever it wants to do, but that would be provocative. but the eu is this is what the battle has been about since the orange revolution, hasn t it, david? they want to move west. they want their economy connected to the west and not russia. how important is this? well, as jon meacham would no doubt say, this goes back to catherine the great. yes, and the rebellion. the rebellion always figures in this. the issue is where does europe start and russia begin, right. in this particular case ukraine has said, we want to be part of europe for a long time now and russia has hated that idea. they hate now i mean look at the russian troops coming in and stealing washing machines. they re seeing a lifestyle in ukraine that they don t have any access to. that s right.
