i am ali velshi. we know more this weekend than ever before about the fbi. and the search of the mar-a-lago estate. new details just released to the public, the possibility of criminal prosecution of the twice impeached ex president s so plausible, now, that some federal prosecutors are actually seeing it out loud. less than 24 hours ago we got our first look at the affidavit used by the fbi to convince a federal judge to greenlight the mar-a-lago search. the document is heavily redacted to protect the safety of civilian witnesses and law enforcement officers, but there is plenty to see and hear. including this line. quote, there is probable cause to believe that evidence of obstruction will be found at the premises. the affidavit directly contradicts his claim that he was already cooperating with the government. it makes it clear the lengths the government went to before pursuing action to recover the material. outlining how the former president the affidavit paints the pi
we are standing by to review that affidavit as soon as it comes out, which could be this hour. let s begin this hour with cnn justice correspondent jessica schneider. jess, this affidavit could be released any moment, sometime between now and noon. walk us through this whole process, what we will see, what we probably won t see. yeah, in i minute now, guys. what s interesting about this is it s all been a relatively rapid process. you know, it was less than four hours after the doj submitted their proposed redactions that the judge ruled, yes, in fact, he would accept that proposal and it would be released to the public. like you said, in just two hours here. and what s notable is that the judge seems to be agreeing with what the doj has proposed, despite the fact that what we saw in court just about a week ago was doj pushing back substantially against the judge, saying even if they issued a redacted version of this affidavit, they said that there would be so many redactio
taken. they made public the warrant and receipt in light of the former president s public confirmation of the search, the surrounding circumstances and the substantial public interest in this matter. reporter: on friday, some details of those documents were revealed. fbi agents removed more than 20 boxes of materials as well as binders of photos and at least one handwritten note. according to the property receipt, seizing one set of, quote, top secret csi documents, four sets of, quote, top secret documents, three sets of, quote, secret documents, and three sets of confidential documents. but neither the released warrant nor property receipt detailed the contents of those classified documents. however, sources familiar with the investigation told the washington post that documents about nuclear weapons were among the items sought. the search warrant did identify three federal crimes the justice department is looking at as part of the investigation. v violations of the e
