When will the University of Connecticut president and athletic director put a stop to the ongoing mockery being made of appropriate public mask wearing by a prominent representative of the university? Coach Hurley may be an excellent basketball coach, but he is a terrible example to the children, youth, fans and even to his own players and coaches by his ongoing refusal to wear a protective mask properly. The shots of him on TV and in the newspaper only wearing his mask as a chin strap just make him look stupid and disrespectful of our public health crisis. For the most part, coaches on other teams, fortunately, wear masks correctly. Hurley earlier acknowledged that his mask wearing was a problem and stated that he would improve.
