Dana Governor Cuomo saying the numbers are preliminary but if accurate, the death rate for the virus may be lower than some estimates. Still, covid19 has killed more than 15,000 people in new york. They believe millie reporting live from the city. The governor said that the initial results showed that the spread of the virus was based on some 3,000 test subjects throughout the state. The test subjects were chosen at Grocery Stores and other locations, but not a peoples homes. The governor says state wide 13. 9 tested positive for antibodies and that means roughly 2. 7 million state residents were infected at some time. The rate of infection is even higher for new york city with one and 5 testing positive. Based on 15,500 fatalities in the state, he said the study showed a death rate of 12. 5 but cautioned that figure is likely to change.
