Activist detained in Bor
David Garang Goc, the chairperson for the coalition group Jonglei Civil Society Network, is currently being held under police custody in the Jonglei State capital, Bor town, his colleagues and police have confirmed.
The civil society activist was detained on Thursday morning.
“Our chairperson has been arrested over the statement he gave about the food donated by the president but was being sold at the market. Herdsman killed, over 4,000 cows raided in Uror County
A herdsman was killed and about 4,500 cows stolen in an attack carried out by armed bandits on a cattle camp at the outskirts of Pieri Payam in Uror County, Jonglei State on Saturday afternoon, officials said.
Tang Chatim the acting county commissioner told Radio Tamazuj Sunday that, “Kajethar cattle camp near Pieri town was attacked by the criminals on Saturday afternoon, killing one herder on the spot, while the rest escaped unhurt. The attackers also went away with about 4,500 cows.”
He condemned the attack, but that the county is calm despite the incident.
