Election With less than a week to go before election day, County Clerk Liz Ann Woodrow says early and mail in voting is picking up though not to 2020 levels. It started slow, but Woodrow says there's reason for that. Compared to 2020, that's nearly a third fewer early vote ballots cast, but quadruple the number of vote by mail ballots requested. Woodrow attributes that to a mandatory mailing that forced her office to have to send out notices to everyone in the county offering permanent vote by mail opportunities. If you're still interested in voting, Woodrow says we're still in the grace period for unregistered voters so you can visit the county clerk's office but you'll need to vote at the same time you register. For everyone registered to vote, Woodrow says there's no excuse for not doing so as her office will be open from 8am until 7pm through the remainder of the week and on Monday.
