Premium Content Subscriber only The CQ Capras have finalised their coaching line-up for 2021 and there’s a common denominator that has CEO Peter White feeling pretty chuffed. All are locals bar one and that one, John Buttigieg, surely qualifies as such having lived on the Capricorn Coast for almost 10 years. White said each coach was impressive in their own right but said their strong local connection was important. “It makes sense – that’s what the Capras are all about,” he said. “We give our male and female players the chance to represent their region and it’s only right that we give our coaches that same opportunity,” he said.

Guy back at club that holds special place for him

Premium Content Subscriber only Guy Williams has described as an “irresistible opportunity” his appointment as head coach of the CQ Capras. The 36 year old will take on the top job this season following the resignation of David Faiumu, who spent the past two years in the position. Williams has a long and successful association with the Capras. He is the most capped player in the club’s history, having made 216 appearances in the maroon and blue since his debut in 2002. His enduring playing career also included five games with the Brisbane Broncos and stints in France with Toulouse Olympique and Lezignan Sangliers.
