Local product Caleb Tull shone in his Intrust Super Cup debut with the CQ Capras, who were beaten in an epic encounter in Emerald on Saturday night.
For the sixth time this year, the Capras led at half-time only to be run down by their opposition.
This time it was the Norths Devils who came back from an eight-point half-time deficit to register a 24-16 win.
They scored three tries in 10 minutes in the second half to secure their sixth win of the season while the Capras are still chasing their first.
It was a similar scenario in the Hastings Deering Colts game.

The CQ Capras under-18s can âhold their heads highâ after their Mal Meninga Cup campaign, according to coach Kane Hardy.
Their stellar run came to an end in Saturdayâs semi-final against the Townsville Blackhawks in Brisbane.
The Capras were edged 28-24 after coming back from 12-nil down and leading by six points midway through the second half of the seesawing contest.
Hardy said the loss was âheartbreakingâ but praised his talented outfit for their amazing efforts throughout the season.
The Jai Hansen-captained outfit convincingly won their six pool games, becoming the first team in Capras history to finish on top of a QRL statewide competition ladder at the end of the regular season.

Sharni will line up in the second row for the Capras, Tamika at fullback for the ladder-leading Burleigh Bears.
It will be a monumental day for the Uptons but Sharni said she was trying to approach it as “just another game”.
“I’m trying not to think of playing against Tamika too much, I just need to focus on my game and the Capras game plan,” she said.
“He’s really excited and I’m really pleased for him,” he said.
“He’s gone well for us, and this deal with the Bulldogs is reward for his hard work over a long period of time.
“They obviously see him as a future NRL player, and I hope he can realise the potential they see in him.”
Dale-Doyle played his junior football with a number of local clubs in the region - Emu Park, Rockhampton Tigers, Fitzroy and North Rockhampton.
After a one-year stint at the East Tigers while attending school in Brisbane, he returned to the Capras in a bid to chase his footy dream.
